Aperture
The size of the lens opening, written as f-numbers — f/1.8 is wide open (lots of light, blurry backgrounds), f/8 is small (less light, everything sharp). Counter-intuitive: smaller number, bigger hole.
Most phone and drone lenses have fixed apertures, so this is mostly a "know what your gear is doing" term — and a buying consideration when you step up.
Why it matters for your listings
That blurred-background look in talking-head intros is aperture at work. For property footage you usually want the opposite: everything sharp.
